Practical Construction Experience. Professional Project Management.

Our team brings together more than 50 years of combined industry experience across residential development, refurbishment, conversion and construction delivery. That experience gives us an understanding of projects from both sides of the table: the commercial and strategic requirements of the client, and the practical realities of building on site.

Clients don't need us to protect a position, they need someone on their side who understands both the commercial pressure they're under and what's actually happening on site. That's the gap Jamestead Group fills.

Matthew J. Downes, Director

Jamestead Group is a construction management and consultancy business built around the practical experience of delivering complex construction projects.

We believe successful construction management comes down to four things. Planning, communication, accountability and control. Our job is to bring the client, the professional team, the supply chain and site operations together around one clear delivery strategy, and then hold everyone to it.

Our Approach

Five stages, applied consistently, whatever the size of the project.

01

Plan

We establish the programme, procurement strategy, responsibilities and information requirements at the outset. Everyone knows what they are doing, by when, and what they need from whom to do it.

02

Procure

We identify, tender and coordinate the right subcontractors, suppliers and specialist packages, with clear scopes and no gaps between them.

03

Coordinate

We bring design, commercial, procurement and construction information together so decisions get made with the full picture, not part of it.

04

Manage

We maintain hands-on oversight of construction, programme, quality, health and safety, procurement and risk. On site, not from a distance.

05

Deliver

We maintain focus through completion, commissioning, snagging and handover, so the last ten per cent does not take as long as the first ninety.

Why Jamestead Group?

Hands-On Experience

Practical experience of live construction environments helps us identify issues early and make informed decisions quickly. We have been on sites where things went wrong, which is generally the most useful qualification there is.

Programme-Led Delivery

We treat the construction programme as an active management tool, linking design information, procurement, site activities and key decisions. It gets used weekly, not filed at week one.

Client-Focused Management

We act as an extension of the client team, providing transparent reporting and keeping the focus on commercial and project objectives rather than on protecting a position.

Strong Supply-Chain Procurement

Successful delivery depends on the right subcontractors and suppliers being appointed at the right time, with clear scopes and clear responsibilities. Most programme problems start as procurement problems.

Technology & Information Management

Modern construction technology and structured information management improve visibility, collaboration and control. [CONFIRM: this one needs a specific to be believable. What do you actually run, and what does a client see?]
